In 1945, Otto Johannes Müller founded the MÜHLE business after returning from the war, producing the first shaving brushes and designing the iconic MÜHLE signet. Over the decades, the company has evolved, weathering challenges and triumphs, to become the global leader in premium shaving products that it is today.
The year 1965 marked a new generation as Hans-Jürgen Müller took over the company, which had grown to 40 employees and was exporting to 36 countries. However, in 1972, under pressure from the German Democratic Republic, Hans-Jürgen Müller was forced to sell the company, and MÜHLE became a state-owned enterprise. It wasn't until 1990, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, that Hans-Jürgen Müller was able to regain the family business, which he then traded as Hans-Jürgen Müller KG, retaining the iconic MÜHLE signet.
The path to recovery was challenging, but MÜHLE persevered. In 1995, as the company celebrated its 50th anniversary, it struggled to survive in the aftermath of reunification, but gradually won new customers and rehired former employees. The dawn of the new millennium brought about a boom, and MÜHLE expanded its offering to a full range of wet shaving goods, solidifying the brand's position.
Today, MÜHLE razors, brushes, and accessories are used by shaving enthusiasts worldwide, designed and manufactured in the company's historic Saxony, northern Germany premises. For over 75 years, a skilled workforce has handcrafted the finest shaving tools, committed to maintaining the high standards, dedication, and pioneering developments of the past, while educating the ritual of the best wet shave.
MÜHLE's shave care products, consisting primarily of natural vegetable ingredients, offer a range of soothing sensory experiences.
